Italian gluing system manufacturer, Ero Srl, forays into India

Talking about gluing systems in the packing industry, there is a new kid on the block, the Italian Ero Srl, offering electronic gluer systems.

The Indian adhesives market for the printing and packaging industry just got hotter with the arrival of Ero Srl, the Italian manufacturers of electronic gluer systems. The company was founded by Roberto Notari in 1994. The president of Ero Srl, Notari is known for his passion for developing maintenance-free, easy to use gluing systems. He has been credited for developing the world’s first and only gluing system which can be controlled and operated by an iPhone or an iPad.

Ero Srl manufactures automatic glue dispensing applicators and quality assurance systems used as a gluing system attachment for folder gluers, flexo folder gluers, web offsets, paper bag making machines and folding machines.

Ero Srl is exclusively represented in India and the SAARC region by Integriti Consulting, based in Thane.

Kaushik Deshpande of Intergriti Consulting, who comes with an experience of 14 years in gluing and quality assurance systems, says the motto of the company is to provide consultation to Indian printers for gluing applications, helping them select the right product with the right module.

Zero maintenance
According to Deshpande, Ero Srl’s plan for India is two-fold. The first is to provide Indian printers a gluing system which is almost zero maintenance, and second is to offer a red carpet service support to its clients.

“We are hoping to install minimum 40 gluing systems in the current financial year. However, more than increasing the numbers, we are more interested in providing value-based support to our clients,” says Deshpande.

He adds that the company is currently focusing on high-end folder gluers, which can add value support to a printer’s production capabilities.

Why should a printer invest in Ero Srl? Deshpande lists the reasons. First, the system needs negligible maintenance. As there is no downtime, and since no maintenance is required, it adds to more production for the printer. Second, the system is rugged, durable and reliable. Third, the company offers optimum service support to its clients. The company has also developed user guidance in Hindi, to make learning easy for the operators.

“As a result of the printers’ confidence on us, and as a result of our assurance of a maintenance-free system, we have received our very first repeat order from Kolkata-based Nextgen Printers, for a high pressure three-gun system with individual shutters.

Ero Srl started its operations in India in June 2014, and has successfully managed to install 22 machines so far. The clients include Nextgen Printers, Nova Printers and Publications, Laxmi Pharmapack, Anil Printers, Secunderabad Printed Cartons, Sri Charan Offset, Shreevardhan International, RS Prints Solutions, and Surya Fresh Foods (Priya Gold).

“Our entry level low-pressure system is capable of giving dot gluing at 200 m/ minute and the high-pressure system can give dots at 375m/ minute. This itself gives an idea how superior our technology is,” says Deshpande, adding, “The icing on cake is that this is the first and only gluing system in the world that can be controlled by using an iPhone or an iPad.”

Ero Srl is present in over 25 countries and has successfully managed to harbour over 1000 + installations. Its major OEM clients are Bobst (Italy), Vega, Curioni, Paktek, Dongfang, Nuova Giovanardi, Sipack, Vimco, Zanelo Tesini, Arpak, Durran Makina, Sungano and many more.

Low-pressure cold glue system
The system is equipped with individual slides/shutters, which ensures that no greasing is required for the nozzle orifice. This saves the production time for the operators. It is the only glue gun in the world which works on 100 Hertz, which is double the frequency of the traditional glue guns. This ensures high speed with precession and ensures excellent cut-off for glue dispensing. The system can even give glue dots at 200m/minute.

Medium-pressure cold glue system
The only medium pressure cold glue system in the world, with a double acting pump, the system is equipped with individual slides/shutters. It comes with a ceramic tip. No oiling is required for the piston pumps. The system can even give glue dots at 300m/minute.

High-pressure cold glue system
Ero Srl’s piston pumps forte is always a double acting pump technology, which ensures immaculate accuracy at extremely high and low speeds. The system can give glue dots at 375m/minute.

Quality assurance systems
A data analyser, an encoder frequency divisor, and a stroboscopic illuminator are installed inside an electrical cabinet of the quality assurance system and it gives a real picture image to be viewed in the screen of the system. The Ero barcode reader is not suppressed by any external elements, can read the barcode even on difficult backgrounds, such as gold, silver, white shades, and gives the real time image. The touchscreen displays all the pictures taken by the system in real time. If faulty, boxes are detected by the system, and the picture of the last faulty box can be displayed by pressing the appropriate key. This also allows the user to critically analyse the faulty gluing.
