The company serves a diverse array of industries, including healthcare, home and personal care, food and beverage, consumer durables, garments and promotional segments, making them one of the largest label solution providers in the country.
In 2021, Jain Transfer Products made a significant leap in its production capabilities by installing a seven-colour Domino N610i digital printing press at its Noida plant. The state-of-the-art machine revolutionised their printing processes, offering unparalleled quality and efficiency.
“Jain Transfer Products was established by our grandfather, Late Shri Puran Chand Jain in 1980. Over the years, under the leadership of our father, Sudhir Jain, we have expanded our offerings to cater to all market segments. Initially, we specialised only in transfer image products and have since evolved to become pioneers in the production of pressure-sensitive labels. We were one of the first in India to introduce roll-to-roll labels. Today, my brother Parshav Jain and I continue this legacy by specialising in self-adhesive labels and manufacturing unique labels, such as multilayer labels. Our products are utilised across various industries, including FMCG, pharma, cosmetics, and more,” Rishab Jain, partner at Jain Transfer Products, said.
He added, “We specialise in creating customised products and assisting our customers in developing labels tailored to their specific needs. Due to digital printing capabilities, we can offer advanced security printing and multilayer labels to enhance the products' functionality and security. Our state-of-the-art production equipment includes flexo machines, a roll-to-roll screen printing machine, multiple defect detection systems, and the Domino N610i digital printing press, all designed to deliver exceptional quality and reliability.”
With the emergence of eCommerce, start-ups, small brands and private labels were seen across the shelf. With this trend, the company saw the market shift from longer run-length jobs to short- and medium-run jobs.
“We aimed to serve this growing market trend without sacrificing money on a click-charge option. In 2019, during Labelexpo Brussels, we explored various technologies and then followed up with a few trials in India. We found that the Domino N610i perfectly aligned with our requirements and those of our customers. The ever-decreasing lead times and high expectations from our customers to further decrease them were significant factors in our choice of the Domino N610i. Since the deployment of the press, it hasn’t let us down with our customers when it came to delivering their products in tight timelines. This advanced press also enables us to execute value-added printing tasks, such as embedding secure codes inside labels for authentication. These specialised jobs are essential for high-value products, ensuring both quality and security,” Parshav Jain, partner at Jain Transfer Products, said.
He added, “The press-advanced seven-colour combination powered by Esko digital front end has enabled us to achieve a wider colour gamut with ease. The high standards of the machine were equally matched by the aftersales support provided by Domino’s skilled service & support team.”
During the pandemic, there was widespread concern and economic deprivation among businesses. All products require packaging, but due to a lack of labour and the non-availability of printing plate bureaus, it was difficult to operate conventional presses. While the company’s clients supplying non-essential goods willingly shut down temporarily, several clients in essential segments like pharmaceuticals, essential drug manufacturing, edible oil production, and sanitiser companies needed its support to keep their operations running. The digital technology of the Domino N610i opened new segments and print options for the company.
“As run lengths have decreased and print quality on inkjet presses has risen significantly, digital technology has served as a wonderful solution,” said Rishab Jain.
Engineered for precision and efficiency, the N610i offers high-quality, vibrant prints that cater to various industry needs. Its advanced technology ensures fast turnaround times without compromising on quality, making it the perfect addition for businesses seeking to enhance their printing capabilities. Whether it’s packaging, labels, or any specialty printing, the Domino N610i opens the door to innovation and performance.
“One of our esteemed customers requested a colour QR code with an embedded image, a task that required variable data printing. We successfully completed this job using the Domino N610i digital press, which outperformed other presses in our experience. In terms of both pricing and quality, the Domino N610i proved to be the ideal solution. While many machines are capable of generating QR codes and performing variable data printing, embedding a variable image within a colour QR code is a unique specification that this machine handled impressively,” Parshav Jain said.
He added, “In our company, we embrace a win-win philosophy. We are dedicated to helping our clients achieve their goals and surmount any challenges related to their packaging needs. We continually push the boundaries to develop new, innovative products. Recognising that today's customers are proactive and eager for cutting-edge innovations, we strive to lead the industry with our creative problem-solving and advanced packaging solutions.”
Jain said today’s customers are increasingly proactive and demand innovative products that set industry standards. The time lag between domestic and developed markets has significantly decreased, allowing innovations from Western countries to be promptly implemented here. Interestingly, some innovations now originate in India before being adopted globally. This shift underscores the changing times and the growing importance of sustainability.
“We are excited to announce the opening of our new factory, which will be operational soon. Committed to staying at the forefront of technological advancements, we constantly seek out and adopt new technologies, fostering innovation as a critical driver of our success. Our dedication to employee development is unwavering; we provide continuous training to enhance their skills. Many of our employees, who began their journey as helpers, have progressed to supervisory roles. With team members who have been with us for over 25 years, we strive to assist them on personal and professional fronts. We believe in treating our employees as family, which is fundamental to our thriving work environment,” Parshav Jain concluded.
