Jak titled the best printer of the year at NAEP

Jak Printers were the big winners at the 10th edition of the National Awards for Excellence in Printing (NAEP), concluded on 25 September 2015 at Hotel Leela Palace, Chennai.

Jak bagged a total of 22 awards with seven gold, along with being named the best printer of the year, best digital printer of the year and star printer of the year.
 
A total of 130 print companies won recognition and honour at the grand ceremony with Srinivasa Fine Arts, Manipal Technologies, CDC Printers and Archana Advertising being other big winners, pocketing four golds each.
 
Further in the special awards category, Replika Press swept the book printing categories with the Sudhir Gupta award for best printing on indigenous paper, the best soft-bound book award and the best exporter of the year award.
 
Parksons Packaging, Marvel Studio and The Safire Offset rounded off the special awards by winning the best packaging printer, best screen printer and best poster printer award respectively.
 
The NAEP award, this year, was hosted by Sivakasi Master Printers Association, Sivakasi (SMPA) on behalf of AIFMP.
 
The NAEP was instituted by the All India Federation of Master Printers, New Delhi (AIFMP) in 1999 to celebrate the quest for quality that is at the heart of the printing industry. According to a press release by the Delhi-headquartered Federation, the aim of these awards is to showcase Indian printers’ achievements and contributions and to create awareness about their capabilities.
 
Delivering his keynote, Nobel Prize nominee Prof MS Swaminathan, who is hailed as "the Indian Father of Green Revolution", said, "Excellence in any field should be the mission of any industry."
 
Dr Sivan director and scientist, ISRO, Trivandrum, distributed the awards and enthralled the audience with the details of India's frugal yet efficient space programmes.
