Subodh Jain of Galgo Fine Papers did the honour of unveiling the calendar titled ‘Eyes Wide Shut’, which features portraits of celebrities photographed by Rohit Chawla. The calendar printed by New Delhi-based Lustra Print Process uses Glode Ultra White 240gsm and comes with a frame made of 120gsm Leathack black paper.
Galgo Fine Paper first launched the calendar in New Delhi on 24 March 2017.
Jayesh Savla, director at Shah Devji Shivji, said, “We have quite a few new friends – printers and designers, and I am glad to interact with all present here.”
He added, “The fiscal 2016-17 has been eventful – politically, economically and even from the print industry point of view. Demonetisation triggered a temporary slowdown, but a big leap towards digitisation.”
Savla also spoke of the paper industry woes – the stop, start, stop, start of Ballapur Industries, the water problems faced by TNPL and mills in South India, and the upsurge in international prices of pulp, paper and freight, which has lead to shortages and price hikes. “The silver lining has been fine papers, the prices of which has remained steady and will remain so.”
Hiren Karia and Kewal Karia of Jayraj Papers used the platform to introduce new coated and uncoated fine papers, 100% recycled colour papers and FSC certified a range of papers, Creative Print from Euler, Germany.
The next Galgo calendar event will be hosted in Bengaluru on 13 April 2017.
