Vikas Arora, managing director, JMD Digitech said, “I had seen the technology in the last edition of Drupa. The basic reason to opt for CtCP is the cost of its plates. Our consumption is around 3000 sq/m and we are saving more than two lakh Rupees on plates as compared to violet and thermal. The machine produces good result at 2,400 dpi.”
JMD Digitech is a sister company of Royal Offset Printers and responsible for its digital operations. The book and commercial printing facility and a pre-press bureau fires more than 350 plates in it’s round the clock operation and planning to achieve a target of 500 plates per day in few months. The CtCP can produce the plates of up to 30x40 inch size.
“We are on expansion mode and have ordered for a new four-colour Ryobi 924 with a size of 25x36 inch. The reason to choose the press is its size since this is the most suitable size for book printers. A new production facility at Tronica City (Ghaziabad) is also on our cards,” he added.
The multicolour printing presses from Akiyama Bestech, Komori and Heidelberg at the unit prints more than one lakh sheets per day of different size, and the company is targeting for more than two lakh sheets after commission of new Ryobi printing press. The book printing company also have plans to opt for digital production facility in future. Epson Stylus Pro 7700 and 9900 and Konica Minolta 6501 are used for proofing.
“Big foreign publishers are coming to India and it will definitely create opportunities for us. Firstly, we will consider domestic demand and then we will opt for export. The book printing industry is growing at 12% annually and our growth rate has been steady at 22%,” Arora concluded.
