JMD Colour Scan has raised the bar of its service portfolio after it commissioned a new violet CTP VioStar FA8 from TechNova, last October.

JMD ups its plate power after Viostar FA8 installation
The Naraina-based pre-press specialist has been in business for the last 17 years. Since the installation of the new VioStar system it enhanced its plate processing productivity by 100%. The pre-press bureau also uses an Agfa CTP system and conventional process for plate-making.
Deepak Arora, CEO of the firm, said: "Following the VioStar installation, we are now firing 400 plates per day as against 200 earlier."
"Violet is a lean and green technology as compared to thermal technology. The plates used in violet are pre-baked thus reducing the chances of failure in press which is a considerable advantage for service bureaus like us as it eliminates remake or wastage costs," added Arora.
Established in 1994, JMD caters to clientele in and around the Nariana industrial area and adjoining periphery as well. The majority of customers are printers engaged in calendar printing, commercial printing and publishing.
The company is housed in a multi-storey 6,000 sq/ft facility with 25 workers.
