Jwalamukhi's Ricoh C751 fuels growth

The main advantage in the past few months, according to Shivakumar of Jwalamukhi is how the firm's capacity has upped and client base widened. More importantly it enabled the traditional offset player to "bring outsourced work in-house to reduce costs and boost output." 

According to Shivkumar, it has been a good investment. He felt it helped the firm to benefit from the changes in the Bengaluru marketplace in a challenging climate. 

"Jwalamukhi has a reputation for consistently producing high quality products. Now with the C751 we can produce proofs or even short-run books for our customers." 
 

The pride of the production floor at Jwalamukhi is Heidelberg. The clincher for the Ricoh purchase was it could be integrated with Heidelberg's Prinect software. This ensured the C751 produced good cololur even on specialty paper and PVC. Shivkumar said, "There is no issue of paper jams. We are very careful about the press and maintain it to the best of our ability. I feel you get jamming issues only if you are not serious about profiling the papers. This means the actual paper weight conflicts with the print file setting." 

Jwalamukhi prints on dull matte to board. The registration for duplex printing is perfect. Most of the clients are publishers. Shivkumar said, "The digital press has given us the opportunity to become a book printer with a digital platform. We can now do everything a POD printer can do, except we’re quicker and sometimes cheaper. Plus we back a book with our two-decades of expertise in book production.”
