Kamal Chopra, managing director, Foil Printers, Ludhiana, has been elected as the vice-president (North) of the All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP). The elections were held during the annual general body meeting of AIFMP at Chennai on 27 September 2015.
Representing more than 250,000 printers, AIFMP draws its strength from more than 68 affiliate associations spread around the country. It is recognised by the government of India as the one and only apex body of Indian printers.
Chopra also remained the HGS, chairman, international relations, chairman industrial relations, chairman AIPD and chairman membership development of AIFMP. Besides being the general secretary of Offset Printers’ Association, Chopra is also the member of the Academic Council of the GJ University of Science and Technology and the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
Speaking on the occasion, Chopra said, “Printing is the basic industry and is the biggest invention of mankind, but it is seen that no recognition is given to this key industry by the government of India. There is no department or ministry for printing in India and I would like to work for the proper identification of this industry in government, private and social circles.”
