Kamal Chopra nominated as AC member of GJ University

Kamal Chopra, managing director, Foil Printers, Ludhiana, has been nominated as the member of the Academic Council (AC) of the Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUS&T), Hisar, with immediate effect for a term of two year, as per the notification issued by the university.

Chopra is the chairman of international relations at the All India Federation of Master Printers, general secretary of Offset Printers’ Association, North India Printers’ Association, NIPA Educational Trust and Indian Society of Communication Technology, secretary general of Indian Institute of Printing Engineers, president of the Printers Club of India and editor in chief of Punjab Print. Chopra is also an educationist and is associated with the GJUS&T as the member of board of studies of the department of printing since its inception.

Speaking on the occasion, Chopra said, “Education is the basic requirement. I wish to start skill development training at the university, if possible.” He added that about 63% of school students dropout at different stages before reaching class ten. “Very few opportunities for skill development are available for these out of school youths and the existing workers, especially in the informal sector,” he said.

He thanked the authorities of the GJUS&T for giving him chance to server in the capacity of AC member of the university.

Established in 1995, Haryana state owned GJUS&T is the ‘A’ grade university accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The university runs courses in medical sciences, engineering, media studies, bio science and technology, religious studies and physical science and more.
