RBP already had a chemical manufacturing plant in Mumbai. After this arrangement, the factory will be shifted and merged with the Chennai plant of Kapoor Imaging. “We will be manufacturing washers, plate cleaners, fountain solutions, among other press room chemicals. The new plant setup in Chennai will be ready in six months,” said Sunil Kapoor, managing director, Kapoor Imaging.

“RBP Chemcial has been operating in India since 2007. One of the problems we faced was to service and have accesses to the vast market in India. Pressroom chemicals industry is at least worth $100mn in India. Our expertise is more technical and product oriented, therefore, the tie-up with Kapoor Imaging will bring in synergy in our marketing operations as well,” said Mark Kannenberg, president, RBP Chemical Technology.

RBP currently claims to hold 15% of the market and hopes that post this new association, the company plans to increase the market share.
