The Karnataka Text Book Society came into existence on 1 April 2006, in accordance with the provisions of the Government order No. ED 95 DGO 2005, Bengaluru dated 4 January 2006. The main aim has been to create and promote an umbrella body that facilitates the preparation of Government approved school textbooks, printing and distribution activities.
