Installed in April 2016, the HP PageWide 8000 XL features stationary 40-inch printbar that spans the whole printing width and delivers 30 A1-size sheets per minute. KGN has surpassed 20,000 metres of colour volume in just over two months of machine use, said Asif Akther, managing director, KGN Xerox.
With the PageWide, KGN focuses on the technical large-format market for printing computer-aided design drawings, geographic information system maps, complemented by point-of-sale applications and on-demand posters for the architectural, engineering and construction industries, print service providers, repro houses and central reprographic departments.
From up to 30m long posters and standees to 90m of CAD drawings, the PageWide 8000 XL can handle a range of media like photo glassy substrate, satin cloth, non-tearable substrate and stickers.
Of the four Konica Minolta Bizhub Pro 1100s, two have been installed at KGN's headquarters in Khairatabad and one each at its branches in Gachibowli and Manikonda. Akther said, “The KM 1070 has replaced Xerox 550. The machine will be dedicated to banner printing and 300gsm auto-duplex jobs.”
Besides this, in the last one year, the company has added Xerox Versant 80, plus a Duplo 616 for finishing.
KGN's numbers are staggering. According to Akther, KGN produces over two lakh impressions of A3 colour prints a month and over eight lakh impressions of A4 black and white copies, plus over 8,000 metres of colour wide-format and 10,000 metres of B&W wide-format prints.
Across the seven strategically located retail print shops in Hyderabad, KGN employs 100 skilled and trained staff, offering any size: digital printing, photocopying, scanning, designing and finishing services.
