Kodak launches Prosper 1000 Plus; claims it’s world’s fastest B/W inkjet press
Kodak unveiled the Prosper 1000 Plus press, which according to the company is the fastest black and white inkjet machine in the world.

The press leverages the base platform of Prosper 1000 to build in new enhancements to the transport and software capabilities. It boasts of Kodak’s Stream inkjet technology and speeds of up to 1000 fpm (300 metres per minute), which translate to 4,364 A4 pages per minute.
Will Mansfield, worldwide director of sales and marketing for inkjet presses, Eastman Kodak Company, said, “The book printing and publishing industry has been greatly impacted by emerging digital technologies. Printers are searching for ways to produce shorter runs quickly and profitably. This machine meets these needs head on, delivering print quality and productivity akin to offset, but with the immediacy and versatility of an all-digital workflow.”
The new press is well-suited to meet the changing needs of print service providers (PSPs) in the book publishing industry and challenges of demanding supply chains, shorter print runs, more frequent orders, faster cycle-times, additional demand for drop shipments and an increased need for customisation.
The Prosper 1000 Plus press is a compact monochrome press offers one-over-one perfecting with a print width of up to 24.5 inches (62.2 cm).
According to a company statement, the Kodak Prosper 1000 Plus press is expected to ship in Sepptember 2015 and is field-upgradable for current customers of Kodak Prosper 1000, who can easily upgrade at the time of its release.
In India, there is one installation of Kodak Prosper 1000 at Repro India’s Navi Mumbai facility.
