Kodak responds to preliminary findings on anti-dumping duty

The preliminary findings of the investigating authority involving digital offset plates have proposed anti-dumping duties against digital plates imported from China.

Kodak has stated that it will continue to supply plates to its customers while exploring options to mitigate the impact hinting that in the meanwhile it may need to look at a possible “adjustment of pricing while the tariff is in effect in order to maintain profitability”.

In a conversation with PrintWeek India, Kodak said, "though the company is surprised and disappointed with the preliminary determination, it will continue to cooperate fully with the DGAD authorities throughout the ongoing investigation and is confident that once the facts are cleared, the matter will be resolved in its favour."

Kodak further added, “we don't just sell in India, we also invest and manufacture, and in the case of our digital plate products, we perform finishing operations at our plant in Goa. This ruling is a disservice to those employees and to our customers who have come to count on the superior features of our plate products.”
