Kolhapur-based Premier Printers, have recently equipped its pre-press unit with a Kodak Quantum Trendsetter 800 platesetter.
The firm in southern Maharashtra which caters to the commercial, as well as packaging segment, opted for the machine in December 2015. Speaking to PrintWeek India about the investment, Rohan Shirke of Premier Printers said, “Earlier we had an entry level Fuji Thermal CTP, which had a limitation regarding overall output. Therefore, we were assessing CTP kits which were available in the market.”
According to Shirke, the firm opted for a Kodak machine since it was 20% cheaper than its counterpart. Plus features such as the Square Dot and ten micron technology; and above all, the positive feedback about the service support from the Insight’s technical team tilted the decision in favour of Kodak.
Shirke said, “We found Kodak Quantum Trendsetter 800 CTP much sturdier and robust. Now, we have the liberty of choosing any brand of plates. Also, the kit is equipped with the latest version of the software and supports the CIP3 interface.”
He added, “The machine is user-friendly since we trained a whole new team to handle the equipment and to date there has been no problem in handling it.”
