Kolkata's Casual Fashions installs HP Latex 1500

With HP Latex, you can think beyond flex and beyond the traditional outdoor market. Kolkata-based Casual Fashions is an example of how it can be done. The company, which was involved in flex printing, purchased a HP Latex 1500 and since then has been experimenting with unusual substrates and products.

“The best thing about the machine is that we can print on any substrate, from silk, cotton to leather,” said Manoj Daga of Casual Fashions. “Though we are still working on flex and vinyl, slowly we are trying to move away from these and concentrate on these new medias.”

So, for example, you need a fancy sherwani for a wedding. You don’t have to worry about intricate embroideries anymore. Just select a design and approach Casual Fashions. Your garment will be ready in minutes.

Starting with apparels, the company is now exploring other untapped areas, from children’s school bag to leather couches to wallpaper and blinds to cotton bags.

“We offer customised service. This is something new and unique in the Kolkata market, so customer acceptance has not been an issue,” Daga said, adding, “We are giving our customers a chance to explore their creativity, an option they never had before.

Moreover, Daga said, the print is safe as the machine uses green inks.

What Daga likes most about the machine is the freedom from constraining. “The machine is fast, so it doesn’t matter if you want to print one item or 100. It can deliver best of quality each time,” he said.
