Lokenath Printers primarily work with magazines, textbooks, catalogues, books, premium brochures, and lookbooks. It caters to customers in urban areas involved in publishing, real estate, corporates, and government institutions.
The company boasts 60,000-sqft of space, with 10 sheetfed offset presses and fully equipped allied machinery to support in-house production. The company has presses from Konica Minolta, Heidelberg, and Komori in its arsenal, and provides various services using both digital and offset.
Lokenath Printers is run by a father-son duo — Swapan and Sankalan Sau. When asked what the USP of the press is, Swapan said, “As we have multiple size offset presses in multiple units, we can easily pull out any large volume job within a very short turnaround time without compromising on quality.”
In terms of special projects, Lokenath Printers recently had the opportunity to make a real estate brochure for Ambuja Neotia Uttalika, a job that had challenging fabrications and post-production detailing. A quality book project that Lokenath took on was a printed and finished photobook covering Kolkata heritage homes. The challenge with this job was that it had many black and white photos which were curated with Pantone and CMYK colour pictures. The book was bound with a round back and a leatherette spine making it an elegant collector’s edition document of vintage Kolkata.
Last quarter, the company bound around 20-lakh books for a government institution. An impossible deadline that Lokenath overcame was binding one-lakh books in a span of two days.
Using the Bindwel BW@2500 multi-clamp perfect binder, Lokenath Printers prepared a 400-page photobook of nine- by 13-inches. This machine has six book clamps that enable a production of 2500 books per hour. The binder handles thicker book blocks with ease, increasing throughput and productivity. The binder has a spine preparation unit that ensures precise trimming and scoring of the book spine.
Swapan said, “We are extremely delighted with the service support and customer relationship Bindwel maintains. Bindwel knows the needs and specifications of the customer and guides them to their full potential which can increase the production pace of the client. We can supply the best quality bookbinding to our customers, thanks to Bindwel”
