Kolkata’s Rotomaxx invests in two IntaGlios machines

Marking a significant milestone, Kolkata-based gravure cylinder manufacturer Rotomaxx India has strategically invested in two IntaGlios rotogravure cylinder engraving machines back-to-back. Rotomaxx India — a new subsidiary of Ganga Cylinder Process — is new in the market. It emerged ambitiously to serve packaging companies with best-in-class gravure cylinders.

Saugata Banerjee, along with his two partners, Biswajit Majumdar and Deepak Kumar Shaw, take care of the subsidiary. “My father Basudeb Banerjee, who has 24 years of experience in the industry, established Ganga Cylinder Process. Following in his footsteps, we unveiled Rotomaxx India as a new vertical to manufacture gravure cylinders,” Banerjee said.

He added, “It has been barely nine months since we first opened Rotomaxx India with the first IntaGlios to supply gravure cylinders to our clients who are a host of packaging companies dotted across the length and breadth of West Bengal and adjoining Odisha, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand and Sikkim. When demands from our clients immeasurably flooded, we eventually needed to cope. That’s why we brought home the second IntaGlios machine from Monotech Systems.”

A heavy-duty gravure cylinder manufacturing machine with a German head, IntaGlios is a brand of Monotech Systems. They engrave on helical or polar line method at the maximum speed of R70: 0.32-sqm/hr. It engraves cylinders up to 1400-mm of length (and optionally up to 3,200-mm).

“The IntaGlios machine has a lot of advantageous features and technological advancements. After all, it’s our milestone transition to automatic (digital) gravure cylinder-making process,” Banerjee said, adding, “The two new IntaGlios machines at our facility now propel us to the next level of high-quality gravure cylinder engraving.”

He added, “Robustness in design and highly user friendly, IntaGlios gravure cylinder engraver offers high-quality strokes that in turn improves the appearance of fine texts and graphics. Even the machines’ workflow software is perfect for sharpening the lettering.

The two machines have now helped Rotomaxx to fulfil every bit of demand from its clients. “Now that we are running two IntaGlios gravure cylinder manufacturing machines, our capacity is upgraded to produce around 60-70 cylinders per day in two shifts. With this capacity, we would never let our clients down when it comes to urgent delivery, any time, in any given circumstance. They (clients) are now entitled to get exactly what they want, on time, whether in West Bengal or anywhere else,” Banerjee said.

Jai Singh, product manager for intaGlios, expresses gratitude for the overwhelming response received for the product, both domestically and internationally, including in markets like Nepal. The repeat orders serve as a testament to the product's performance. Under the Monotech Systems brand, customers trust in receiving reliable after-sales services, a critical factor in their investment decision.

The company has surpassed 30 installations with several orders pending. It aims to achieve a total installation of intaGlios, machines ranging from 40 to 45 by the end of this fiscal year.

Operating in an 8,000-sqft production facility, backed by a staff of 30 well-experienced professionals, Rotomaxx India is graced by a strong manpower and machine portfolio comprising the two IntaGlios. “If the truth be told, we are grateful to Monotech Systems for IntaGlios and their all-time unconditional support,” Banerjee concluded.
