This includes: four presses in Gujarat and two presses in East India. Plus nine presses were bought by various customers in South India and five presses were shipped to North India.

The highlight is the arrival of ten Enthrone and Lithrone 29-inch size presses which have arrived in various parts of India - Ranchi, Meerut, Rajkot, Vishkapatnam, Surat, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Cochin and Hyderabad.

Speaking to PrintWeek India, Ajay Aggarwal of Insight said, “More and more commercial printers are recognising the benefits of switching over to a brand new faster makeready press that can do a small print job in ten minutes and thereby save a lot of money in makeready time and material, labour, power, paper waste, chemicals etc.”

“A brand new press can replace two to three old presses - freeing up a lot of space, power, maintenance, labour and provide the printer with tremendous cost savings,” added Aggarwal.

According to Aggarwal, the 37-inch size press, the Lithrone A37 also continues to be popular with seven installations since 1 April till date.

Aggarwal attributes the success of this machine to the savings on plate costs, power, chemicals, space etc when compared to a 40-inch press and is ideally suited for the competitive publishing segment.

In addition to these, three high-end presses were also shipped in the first half.  This include: a six-colour plus coater GL 640 105 press was delivered to York Prints in Guwahati and a six-colour plus coater 32-inch press was delivered to Pratiroop Mudran in Pune; both are packaging customers.

In addition, K L Hitech was delivered a very high-end configuration of six-colour 29-inch UV press for printing credit card applications.

Komori’s success story continues in this financial year following a very successful last year which saw 20 Enthrones and Lithrone A37 coming into the Indian market last year. Komori had supplied two seven-colour plus coater presses to Pragati Offset and UV presses were supplied to Le Griffe and Colorplast last year.
