Konica Minolta gives the new AccurioPress C6100 and C6085 a Pamex launch

On Day One of Pamex 2017, Konica Minolta unveiled two new digital printing machines, AccurioPress C6100 and AccurioPress C6085, which the manufacturer announced last month. The two new machines replace Bizhub Pro C1100 and C1085 presses.

The two four-colour machines are similar in specification but the C6100 runs at maximum speeds of up to 100ppm and the C6085 at 85ppm. Main improvements over the Bizhub machines they are replacing include increased maximum substrate weight, from 350gsm to 400gsm at the same maximum speeds, and the ability to print on a wider range of substrates, including envelopes and embossed paper.

Yoshinori Koide, director business strategy and project management, Konica Minolta, said, “The new machines also have the functionality to print banners up to 1,300mm long, with auto duplexing of banners up to 762mm long. After we announced the two machines in the beginning of November, it has seen over 10 installations.”

The Accurio Press being demonstrated at Konica Minolta’s Pamex stand is equipped with the LU-202XLm paper feed unit that can continuously feed up to 1,000 banner sheets of maximum 80gsm thickness and 762mm length.

According to Manish Gupta, deputy general manager, PP and IP marketing, Konica Minolta, till date 12 Jetvarnish machines have been installed in India. “These include one Jetvarnish Evo, three Jetvarnish 3D Classic and eight Jetvarnish 3DS machines.

One the digital label front, Konica Minolta’s C71hc ( Accurio Label 190), which has hit a 100 installation milestone( worldwide), last month, is yet to see its first installation in India. “We are new in the label segment. Hopefully, by the end of the financial year, we will have a couple of installations. We have signed up with Insight and Reifenhauser to distribute the label printing machine in India,” said Gupta.

Besides the host of digital printing machines and the Jetvarnish family of digital post-print enhancement kit, Konica Minolta is showcasing a range of job management and colour management software at the show. Gupta added, “The AccurioPro Conductor is a workflow integration software which enables operation of multiple presses at a higher efficiency. Then there is AccurioPro Cloud Eye, which enables cloud-based central management of printing tasks at multiple locations.”

Talking about business in 2017, Koide, said, “The year 2017 has been challenging because of the impact of demonetisation and GST but as we approach the end of the year, business is on track. We see more than 10% growth in the number of units sold over last year.”
