Konica Minolta launches Bizhub Pro 1100 production printer, others

The company also announced the launch of Bizhub Pro 1100, a monochrome production printer. This will replace the existing Bizhub Pro 951, a 95 ppm machine. The new machine, which is being launched in a print exhibition currently being held in Chennai, boasts 100 ppm capacity. According the company, the machine, which can print from 40 to 350 gsm, is ideal for book printing because it is heavy duty and can print up to 2.25 million sheets per month.

Besides this, the other new products are targeted at small- to medium-sized businesses. The Bizhub series features powerful functions packed into three-in-one design that allows simple operability through one touch buttons. These also enable printing from anywhere, anytime with the most advanced wireless, mobile and cloud computing.

The new launches includes Bizhub 165e/185e,  Bizhub 206/226, Bizhub 227/287/367, Bizhub C227, Bizhub C368 / C308/ C258 series of colour and monochrome multi-functional products (MFP - print, copy, scan and fax all in one system).

According to the company, Konica Minolta will provide support for the existing machines until the life-cycle of the machine.

The company said the Bizhub Pro 1100 has a lot to offer – new applications and functions, a faster turnaround time, a colour scanner and a flexible Open API interface – all helping to handle the wide variety of frequently changing on-demand jobs. It can handle the demands of any production environment. With a maximum paper capacity of 9,000 sheets in five cassettes and the new bypass tray MB-507, the monochrome printer is well equipped for any high-volume job, and even extensive mixed-media jobs can be handled easily.

Additionally, the company revealed that approximately 51% of the main body of the MFPs are made by recycled materials – PC/ABS and biomass plastic. “This shows our commitment to the Indian market,” said V Balakrishnan, executive general manager, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India. “Keeping the company’s vision in mind, Konica Minolta is relentlessly working towards specific eco-friendly technology. As an enhanced series of MFPs and production printers, the Bizhub series exemplify how customers can count on Konica Minolta for solutions that allow them to manage information faster and more efficiently with less impact to the environment.”

In the last six year, the company has installed around 2,700 digital presses in all categories. During the press meet, Yuji Nakata, managing director, Konica Minolta Business Solutions, revealed that in the last fiscal, the company did a business of Rs 460 crore. Meanwhile, the company registered a growth rate of 20% last year. This year, the target is 25%.
