Manish Gupta, national marketing manager – production printing & industrial printing, Konica Minolta, said, “AccurioLabel complements the traditional flexo printing with long runs being done on the traditional process and short runs being done on digital, breaking the barrier and enabling customers to order according to their requirement.”
AccurioLabel 230 winders have web guides on both, rewinder and unwinder to provide accurate feeding of the media. This can be altered to two types of paper widths between 250 to 330 mm.
The press boasts of a speed of 23.4 linear metres per minute, which is 73% more than the speed of its Konica’s introductory machine in the mid-range digital label press segment, AccurioLabel 190, which has a speed of 13.5 metres per minute. “AccurioLabel 230 is more productive as compared to 190 and it also has a unit to register a pre-printed media like white,” said Gupta.
In just three years, Konica Minolta has installed 400 AccurioLabel 190 presses worldwide, of which three have been installed in India. Noida-based Hora Art Centre installed India's first KM AccurioLabel 190.
AccurioLabel 230 does not require any pre-coating of media and it is Job Definition Format (JDF/JMF) compatible, claimed Gupta. The machine processes colours at a resolution of 1,200 dpi x 8 bit with 256 gradations expressed in one pixel.
In order to provide a start-to-end inline digital printing solution, Konica Minolta has facilitated the integration of finishing equipment such as DPR - Scorpio 35 digital cutter and finisher, and MGI Jetvarnish kit that enables foil stamping, spot UV, embossing and variable data foil.
“You would be surprised to see our inline print solution during the Labelexpo Europe 2019 which shall demonstrate the printing of labels as well as it's digital finishing. The solutions also support Braille, hot foil and other additional features,” added Gupta.
The press will be formally launched at Labelexpo Europe 2019 in Brussels which is slated from 24-27 September 2019.
