This is the company’s second RMGT machine of the same make. Kriti Printers installed its first RMGT 9 Series printer in 2018.

Gurpinder Singh Vohra of Kriti Printers said the commercial and book printing company chose to invest in the machine because the Japanese manufacturer is much more cost-effective compared to its German counterparts.

“There is a 30-70% difference in the running cost of the two,” said Vohra, adding, “Another reason to invest in the printer is the faster rate of conversion and binding. We are expecting a 25% increase in production after the new installation.”

The four-colour RMGT 25x36-inches press boasts a speed of 16,200 sheets per hour and its features include sheet size and impression preset; R-matic-D continuous dampening system; CIP4 ink volume setter; automatic blanket wash; automatic ink roller wash; vision punch and bender; pneumatic side lay guide and automatic nip check mode for rollers and maintenance mode for greasing purpose.

Established in 2003, Kriti has the complete printing setup. A team of 60 people converts more than 100 tonnes of paper per month in its 14,000-sq/ft premise.

Whilst the company is not planning to invest in more printing machines soon, it may invest in post-press within a year. Vohra stressed the importance of conversion to keep up with the rate of printing. “There is a pressure being built on conversion after one invests in new printers, but people make the mistake of choosing not to as the gains are intangible” he stated.
