Vishal Arora of Kumar Offset said, “We were outsourcing printing plates until July, and understandably, we were facing problems, including delay in delivery and inconsistent quality. So, we decided on an in-house pre-press unit and opted for Thermostar T9.”
Arora said the company used to outsource around 40 printing plates per day. However, after getting the Thermostar T9, the company’s printing plate consumption has gone up to 90 plates per day.
“TechNova is a renowned name in the industry, especially for its consumables business. So it was not a difficult decision to go for Thermostar T9,” he added.
The unit was established by Vijay Arora in 1968 at Gandhi Nagar under the name Saraswati Printers. In 2004, it shifted its base to Patparganj Industrial Area and started functioning under the banner Kumar Offset Printers. Vishal Arora joined the business in 1995.
The company entertains customers from all segments — publishing houses, commercial, books, packaging and others. “We do job work and our customers are freelancers, so we cater to jobs from all segments,” Arora said.
The production setup comprises of one Thermostar T9 CTP in pre-press, one four-color Heidelberg of 28x40-inches (CPTronic), two single-colour Heidelberg of 25x36-inches and one four-colour Heidelberg of 20x28-inches; and a fully-equipped post-press unit with three folding machines from Stahl and MBO, two section sewing machines from Aster; one six-clamp book binder (with oblong facility) which is the only machine in Delhi, one Wohlenberg three-knife trimmer and four Polar cutting machines, one Muller Martini flowline (with online three-knife trimmer), and two lamination machines — thermal and BOPP with Autocut facility.
The company is also upgrading its production setup and its Komori Enthrone 429 machine is under installation. “Once the machine is installed, we will be in a better condition to serve our customers with fast and better quality products,” Arora added.
The unit runs as per requirement and jobs at hand in the 450-sqm shopfloor.
