Asgar Sanchawala, partner, Kwik Color, said, “Deciding upon the equipment was a big challenge for us. Our main concern was to match the print quality for the textile industry. The colours had to be equivalent to the garments. We had a lot of trials and took us a few months before we got an equilibrium with cost and quality.”
He added, “The TechNova service team and their expertise in colour-matching for digital and offset print integration played an important role in matching all our needs. We are satisfied with our decision.”
The company has been using a Kodak Nex press digital press for the last 10 years. Now, it has replaced the Kodak machine with the Konica Minolta 12000.
“Now, we have entered the market with new vigour. We hope to grow bigger and better,” Sanchawala said.
The company caters to the textile industry with short-run catalogues and posters. It also prints on-demand books, especially autobiographies and religious books.
Sanchawala said, “This is just the beginning. Surat has a large market for the printing of all advertising materials. As the textile industry has begun cutting costs, they are converting catalogues to posters and folders with a short run of 50 to 500 quantities. This has a huge potential for the digital industry to go to greater heights.”
