Kyocera makes its Drupa debut, claims green innovation in toner technology

Kyocera Document Solutions, the office document solutions company made its Drupa debut and unveiled what it claims was the world’s first Biomass toner that uses 30% renewable raw is ‘food safe’ and generates 30% less CO2 than conventional toners.

The toner, which is still at the experimental stage, was unveiled at the show along with a new long-life imaging drum, with a longer life of 6,000 impressions. Both products are part of the company’s Ecosys product technology family.

“Our long-lasting Ecosys product technology makes an essential contribution to environmental protection. It not only produces upto 75% less waste than conventional systems, but the drum also lasts up to thirty times longer than normal machines,” said Oliver Kreth, general manager European marketing, Kyocera.
 
The company plans to supply Biomass toner for five models in the FS-series by the second half of 2012. “We are taking the next step with the Biomass toner and are exclusively using RSPO certified biomass for manufacturing of this groundbreaking development,” said Kreth.
 
At the Kyocera stand, the company has on display a range of Taskalfa multi-function printers, which is now available with EFI Fiery controller 11/12. According to the company, the Fiery 11/12 controller will optimise production times, print costs and quality by automating time-consuming manual tasks.
 
At the stand, visitors will also be able to see Kyocera’s HyPAS software and managed print service solutions.
