Labelexpo 2023: APL books 20 LEDs

At the show, the company showcased high-power LED UV 50 watts/cm2. This new design system was launched in August 2019 with the power of 30 watts/cm2, and after Covid, the company came out with 40 watts/cm2. Now APL has 50 watts/cm2+ power system which was launched in December 2022. 

Since then, the company has sold more than 400 systems worldwide in all three ranges.

CP Paul of APL Machinery, the new system has an optical power of 50-52 watts/cm2, and it comes with a two-year unconditional warranty. 

“We have had a huge demand for LED UV since the last edition of Labelexpo Europe. We have experienced huge success both in narrow- and wide-web, including rotogravure, and we have captured 95% of the market share in India,” Paul said.

He added that the company is back to normal, especially after Covid. “It’s getting better and better. The rise of flexible packaging in India is one of the reasons for APL’s success,” said.

Paul said with APL’s LED UV, customers can run their presses at full speed. There is no need to worry about inconsistent curing as LED UV has a long life of 20,000 hours. Because it has no heat, printers can print on the thinnest of materials. They can now also print with rollers up to 1,800- 2,000-lpi.
