Re India, a subsidiary of the Italian company Respa, provides automation equipment to industries such as printing, packaging, rubber, and textiles. With branches in Italy, China, Brazil, the USA, and India, Re India is seeing significant changes in the label industry, driven by rising market demand and growing interest in automation.
Speaking about the response to the show so far, SK Shah, director and CEO of Re India said, “This show is our chance to meet everybody at the same time. We are interacting with our existing customers here at Labelexpo. Very few new customers have visited us. The customers who already have our equipment, are being introduced to products like our guiding systems and consumables like shafts."
Until now, viscosity control systems were not used in the label industry. Shah said, “Nowadays, people have hybrid printing machines, in which the rotogravure section and viscosity control systems are needed. Our systems can help save their inks and solvent."
In this segment, there are many competitors. What sets Re India apart? Shah said, "We are far ahead in terms of tension control systems and viscosity control systems.
The label industry is growing industry, especially in terms of digital printing. Shah said, “Considering our expertise in unwinding, rewinding, and tension control systems, some of the digital printing manufacturers are buying a lot of assemblies from us and fitting them into their inkjet systems. A complete solution is something we provide to the digital industry."
In terms of Re India's plans ahead, Shah said, "We would like more enquiries in terms of our complete assemblies and retrofitting. On many imported machines, we have installed our foiling unit. We call it a 'foil saving unit,' where we provide a friction shaft at the unwind and rewind stations, and solutions for cold foiling. We expect this kind of work from the label industry because nowadays, variety and embellishment are required. On printing machines, such kind of equipment is necessary, so we expect a lot of retrofitting in the future.
