He said the expectations were high for a substantial increase in footfall on Friday and Saturday, with a strong turnout anticipated.
According to Dhami, a standout development was the innovative die-cutting machine from TechNova, equipped with multiple cutting heads that eliminate the need for traditional dies. This machine offers an efficient alternative to laser die-cutting, attracting attention for its precision in label cutting.
Discussing industry trends, Rahil highlighted a shift among flexographic providers targeting traditional rotogravure customers. “Multitec, for example, has developed a flexo machine specifically for filmic jobs, suitable for substrates from 12 to 80 microns. This machine appeals to gravure customers looking to avoid the constant demand for new print cylinders, providing a more cost-effective solution through interchangeable plates,” he said.
Overall, Dhami said, while there were limited groundbreaking technological shifts, the industry is steadily advancing with solutions designed to enhance cost-efficiency and adaptability for packaging professionals.
