Labelexpo Europe 2017: QuadTech to focus on colour management with ColorTrack workflow

ColorTrack is QuadTech’s new colour management software for flexo and gravure packaging applications. According to the company, it is an “industry-first, highly adaptive colour expert in a box solution”.

The software comes in a variety of options for hand-held and inline configurations to facilitate press-side correction of ink formulations. It aims to deliver “absolute consistency” from press-to-press, shift-to-shift, and plant-to-plant without any hardware modifications to the press.

With the live ColorTrack demonstrations, QuadTech will showcase its seven “colour management breakthrough” technologies, which it claims are worldwide firsts – pre-laminate/post-laminate colour support; press-side recipe correction module; ink strength/anilox colour correction; spot colour tone value calculation to ISO 20654; enhanced colour measurement through strip scanning; simplified ink quantity tracking via patented “virtual scales”; complete, simplified workflow.

QuadTech president Karl Fritchen, said, “We knew from the reaction at Drupa the potential impact ColorTrack and DeltaCam could have on the industry, and we’re delighted to hear such positive feedback directly from the market. Since last summer our developers and engineers have continued to develop the products. We look forward to demonstrating at LabelExpo just how these colour breakthroughs will further improve the way printers manage colour quality and allow them to take better control of their print production.”

QuadTech will also showcase colour measurement along with the DeltaCam, which was launched at last year’s Drupa.
