Labelexpo Europe 2019: German brand Evonik to showcase UV curable silicone release systems
Germany-based UV curable silicone release systems specialist Evonik would be showcasing its latest range of products at Labelexpo Europe 2019. It includes the new TEGO RC 1904, which is said to provide premium release force in high-speed peel applications.

“Our one component product TEGO RC 1904 addresses the mega trend resource efficiency. It enables our customers in the self-adhesive label industry to reduce label material. Thinner label faces are one solution, but can be more fragile and less stiff. The premium release properties offered by TEGO RC 1904 ensure easy matrix stripping after die cutting and safe automatic label dispensing”, said Dr Stefan Stadtmueller, vice president, surface technologies, Evonik.
The company claims that TEGO RC 1904 could provide excellent curing performance with high subsequent adhesion values. In addition, it is said to have good anchorage to many different substrates without the need to add organic acrylates, ensuring premium release forces that remain stable over time even under humid storage conditions.
A release coating based on Evonik TEGO RC 730, which was developed for top and non-top coated thermal papers, is said to offer top face protection for direct thermal linerless labels.
The thermoprint and dispensing process of labels coated with TEGO RC 730 would be demonstrated on Logopak’s compact dispenser. Logopak is a co-exhibitor on the Evonik stand (Hall 4/Stand B60).
