We look forward to meeting visitors at our stall at Labelexpo.”

Maxcess India Automation | Stand: J28
Maxcess India Automation’s flagship product at Labelexpo India will be the Visionmax 100% inspection solutions for narrow-web.

The Visionmax has been built to inspect printing presses using high-resolution colour cameras that enable consistent quality for printing jobs, and alert colour operators in case of any inconsistencies or processing issues that will cause returns.

Each Visionmax includes a self-install solution, with integrated idlers, encoders, lights and power supplies. The user can choose from multiple cameras to match the process the system is being applied to. Each system includes a 24-inch touchscreen and industrial processor, with a perpetual licence for inspecting labels, including matrix inspection for lines that die cut, label-counting, print inspection and VisionConnect, Maxcess’s workflow software.

The user may optionally add colour LAB point measurement, 1D/2D code identification and pdf to image verification. The user can also optionally add an IO package to control rewind machines.

Its key features include LAB colour measurement, copy verification- PDF image verification to find defects or to store a template and Operator Assist- live video displayed with picture-in-picture that can be projected on a 55-inch screen for easy viewing.  The Visionmax helps with detecting repeated defects such as roller marks, missing prints or hazing while reducing in-line waste and insisting on consistent standards in copy and colour and helps run presses faster.

Maxcess India Automation has been participating in Labelexpo India since 2012.

Miraclon | Stand: E26
At Labelexpo 2024, Miraclon will showcase the opportunities and benefits of modern flexo and how it enables them to achieve their efficiency, sustainability and quality goals while maximising returns. Visitors to the booth will learn how they can adopt the principles of modern flexo, and how Miraclon technology and expertise can help facilitate consistent, efficient, and sustainable printing.

The booth will showcase real case studies, highlight new product innovations that build on the strength of core Flexcel NX systems, and provide access to Miraclon technical and commercial experts.

“Flexo is evolving from its ‘traditional’ capabilities, practices and processes to a new era of modern flexo that is a standardised, sustainable manufacturing process,” said Andy Yarrow, regional commercial director for the Asia Pacific region at Miraclon.

At the Miraclon booth, outside of the Flexcel NX systems, visitors will also have access to experts who will offer consulting services, savings tools and calculators, and technical support.

Monotech Systems | Stand: G24
Monotech Systems has three major products to display at Labelexpo 2024 — its KolorSmart+ UV inkjet label production press, dSpark hybrid+ digital embellishment press, and TraceSci loop and mini track and trace solution, all of which will have live demonstrations.

The Jetsci KolorSmart+ UV inkjet digital label press has an additional pre-inkjet flexo station with standard UV curing to apply primers, under white or spot colours. Pre-inkjet flexo stations can be used for priming, coating, or single-colour printing along with up to the inkjet engine of six colours (W+CMYK+ special colour). It offers a speed of 50-m/min. on a web width of 350-mm.

The dSpark hybrid+ delivers a speed of up to 35 metres per minute on a print width of 330-mm with a resolution of up to 1,440-dpi. This digital label embellishment press ensures impeccable results with every print, delivering consistent and flawless embellishments that enhance the overall aesthetics of your labels.

The TraceSci loop and mini track and trace solution demonstrate how to address the printing dimension in track and trace solutions. It uses blockchain technology, which provides security and transparency throughout the supply chain. This ensures that all transactions and movements are securely recorded, making it nearly impossible to tamper with data. The user-friendly interface is designed for ease of use, enabling stakeholders at all levels to access vital information quickly.

Multitec Aids | Stands: F20, G20
At Labelexpo 2024, Multitec will demonstrate its double servo mid-web S2 670-mm nine-colour press running on a 12-micron substrate at 200-m/min. It is put squarely between digital and CI flexo/rotogravure and built on a heavy-duty structure. It is completely vibration-free and incorporates advanced anti-bounce technology.

The press is made to cater to converters wishing to explore the short-run flexible packaging space for pouches, shrink sleeves and IML, among others. It is equipped with an intelligent and centralised digitised press operation. The S2 includes LED and high-powered UV systems, an extended path in line solvent drying unit, pre-register, auto-register, auto job settings, movable turn bar, and foiling. Converters can print various jobs with soft touch varnishes, foiling, and other value-added features in the flexible packaging space.

A double servo S2 450-mm eight-colour press will be printing shrink sleeves live at the show. The press includes hybrid LED UV systems, die-cut units, pre-register, auto register, movable turn bar, delamination-relamination units, peal and seal kit, and foiling stations.

Both presses are capable of printing from 10 microns up to 450 microns at 200 metres per minute with truly impressive registration and ultra-low setup wastage. There will be live demonstrations and presentations on the industry-leading features of the S Series of presses at the 350-sqm stand of Multitec.

Newgen Printronics | Stand: G8
Newgen Printronics will present a range of solutions for labels and flexible packaging from top global brands. Some of them are the Omet flexo press with multi-technology from Italy, Polly Automatic’s solutions for embellishing and converting, Packers' automated die-punching machines from Korea, and Berhalter’s die-cutting systems from Switzerland.

Each product offers features designed to streamline processes and boost output quality.

DCM’s converting machines for flexible packaging, Heaford’s plate mounters, and Lundberg’s waste-handling systems. Additionally, Rotary Technologies’ complete tooling solutions for narrow web flexo, Alphacure’s UV/IR lamps, and other equipment will be on display.

Nippon Color | Stand: N37
The standout product in the array of offerings which Nippon will display at Labelexpo 2024 is the VD330 digital label die-cutter, debuting at the show. This solution is a technology that encompasses a range of functions. It excels in unwinding, laminating, half-cutting (utilising multiple cutting heads, up to four), matrix removal, slitting, and rewinding/sheeting.

The VD330 digital label die cutter boasts three standout features. The first is an automatic job changeover using artificial intelligence (AI). The CCD camera scans the mark and reads the job number, enabling seamless job transitions without any operator intervention. This feature enhances productivity, allowing digital label printers to offer a complete digital workflow to clients. With no need to wait for dies, label converters can upload the layout file, and the machine starts cutting promptly.

The second feature of note is multiple cutting heads for increased speed and productivity. In contrast to other plotters with a single cutting head, the VD330 provides up to four cutting heads. This is aimed at boosting speed and productivity. The distance between the heads is calculated automatically and adjusted for each job, ensuring optimal performance without manual intervention.

Finally, the die-cutter’s versatile roll-to-roll and roll-to-sheet configuration provides label converters with flexibility. This allows them to adapt their processes based on specific job requirements.

These features optimise operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and offer a solution that meets a variety of production needs.

Packline Machines | Stand: K28
Packline’s star product is the LPM 400 Super automatic label punching machine. The LPM can perform embossing and full-cut operations for any size, and shape of labels, lids, and blanks directly from reel form to accumulate batches. The machine ejects the exact piece counts entered by the operator, maintaining registration accuracy and cutting finish while achieving maximum material utilisation.

Its web width is around 400-mm, its reel width is 600-mm, and its core diameter is 75-mm. It can be operated on printed and unprinted materials at the speed of 200–350 strokes per minute.

The company’s fully automatic punching machine can be used on yoghurt lids, beer labels, ice cream cone lids, and juice bottles, among others. It is ideal for single-label pick and place machines.

The LPM has over 250 installations worldwide.
