Find solutions to the unappealing issues like label white backside and edge. Some companies have announced that they will be showcasing breakthrough innovations designed to drive growth for label converters in new market segments.

Innovation & Inspiration, Avec Plaisir

Arconvert | Hall 5, Stall A57

Not one but two new Arconvert swatch-books. If Innovation & Inspiration features high-opacity H+O technology and the waterproof X-Dry adhesive, Avec Plaisir celebrates Manter’s 75 anniversary and contains the ten self-adhesive papers. Both are targetted at the premium label sector.

 

AXR TX

Armor | Hall 6, Stall C28

The company will show the upgraded version of its AXR TX ribbon technology dedicated to print on all fabric materials (polyester taffeta, polyester satin, nylon taffeta). It is resistant to heat, sweat, and daily handling. Armor is also showing its Inkanto brand of thermal transfer ribbons

 

Labelstock and facestock

Avery Dennison | Hall 5, Stall A31

In all, there will be around 11 products on display in four “world of discovery” areas, making it easy for converters to find what they’re looking for. A few of the new products being featured include the rPE, claimed as the industry-first facestock made from recycled polyethylene; rPET - a liner with more than 30% recycled PET bottle content; and a new extension of the Avery Dennison CleanFlake portfolio, a solution that enables closed-loop PET recycling. In addition, Avery Dennison will have a strong focus on collaboration, with a hospitality area to meet, listen and collaborate with show attendees, as well as a dedicated seminar space.

 

Top-coating

Cosmo Films | Hall 5, Stand D05

Cosmo Films has top-coating capability available across diverse widths generally required by labelstock manufacturers. There will also be new products, such as both sides coated PS label films; matte-coated PS label films; transparent in-mould label films; high tear-resistant synthetic paper for tags and labels.


MicroFlex

DP Lenticular | Hall 11, Stall C31

Lenticular brings a wow effect and is also interesting for brand protection and security. The company claims the new MicroFlex rolls are thinner and can be proposed in PETG, which is more stable than PP and so the quality will increase. The thinner gauge is also an advantage for a label.


Nano Optics

Holostik | Hall 3 , Stand A33

The company will be promoting the Nano Optics mastering technology at the show. According to Holostik, the Nano Optics is a beam-based technology with with extremely high resolution of hologram and is loaded with security features never seen before.

 

Film-based thermal media

Jiangsu Wampolet Hi-Tec  | Hall 6, Stall E46

Film specialist, Jiangsu Wampolet will be using the show to launch it film-based thermal media, a face material used in manufacturing self-adhesive label stock. Available in 70 gsm to 185gsm, TC and NTC grades, the media is ideally suited for frozen logistics label used on food, medicine, and drinks.

 

Innovative products

Max Speciality Films | Hall 3, Stand A35

Max’s new BOPP manufacturing line is helping the company grow in specialty films. The range of innovative products includes PSL & IML, which is now equipped with higher thickness and flatness. Max has developed in-house coatings, ideal for print and adhesive receptiveness.

 

Hologram labels

Shree Lamipack | Hall 7, Stand E63

Shree Lamipack has a large production capacity and is looking to extend it further. It will highlight its capacity to produce hologram labels and foils. Shree Lamipack says it always approaches new ideas and provides customised service for individual clients.

 

Filmic labelstock 

SMI Coated Products | Hall 11, Stand A27

At the show, the company will focus on its filmic solutions. And for the first time, it will be showcasing a labelstock solution which uses UV curable adhesive.  The benefits, SMI says, is in the UV curable adhesives’ capabilities performing in difficult conditions and have very special applications.

This one will sure be of interest to the visitors at the show. SMI has over 300 products, and are constantly adding new ones while old products get eased out. Mark 26 September, 11.40am in your calendar. SMI will be hosting a session during the workshop on self-adhesive material.

 

Nativia D813

Taghleef Industries | Hall 5, Stall C40

Nativia D813, an in-mold BOPP film based on PLA polymer is derived from renewable resources. The film is biodegradable, and designed for reel-to-sheet offset printing and injection moulding. On display will also be Taghleef’s all-polyolefin shrink filmTDS, with 65% shrink.

 

PP Lite labelstock

UPM Raflatac | Hall 5, Stall D41

UPM Raflatac's PP Lite range combines a lighter face material, a lower coat-weight adhesive, and a lighter backing, making it lightweight and optimises the use of raw materials and resources. Also on display will be the Vanish PCR labels featuring 90% recycled content face and liners.
