Late entrant, Paper Bind brings GMP’s Protopic lamination machine to show
Gurgaon-based post-press specialist Paper Bind has displayed a fleet of equipment at Pamex 2013. “Apart from other post-press machineries, which are on display, the Protopic lamination machine from GMP is surely a show stealer,” said Anuj Mehta, director, Paper Bind. The machine was showcased in India for the first time at the Printpack 2013.

Since then the machine has seen 23 installations all over India. On an average GMP manufactures around 75 machines a month. According to Mehta the unique selling point of the machine is its ability to render various textures and also the footprint of the machine is comparatively lesser than its competitors. The machine can perform six different lamination effects on the substrate. It can also do spot lamination and spot metallic effects, which is usually a process that is done on a UV machine.
“This new approach will span inksnewer markets and will set a new benchmark for other similar products,” said Mehta. “The machine has been designed to offer something beyond the term lamination and to add more value to the product,” he added.
The Protopic lamination machine has an autofeeder and autocut function. It has the ability to create photo texture effects on the substrate with practically zero wastage, claims Mehta. “The first sheet is a sellable sheet. Compared to other products our machine consumes least power, which in long run would be an added advantage for the buyer.
Paper Bind recently installed its Protopic lamination machine at Delhi-based, Arpit Albums, a photo album printer. Arpit installed the first machine post Printpack India and soon followed it with orders for two more machines. The company in fact sold the previous lamination machines at its unit and has been scaling its profits and productivity using our machine,” concluded Mehta.
