One of the most interesting recent changes in print packaging plants is the rapid acceptance of need to install equipment that will supply 100% defect-free products through machines rather than using manual method of sorting, which has the element of fatigue associated with chance of error.
Amrut Chamaria, director at Laxmi Group said that the increasing pressure from regulated markets for ‘zero defect’ product is driving pharma companies to produce and deliver quality product and packaging forms the integral part of this value chain. “We wanted to be the front runners and partner with our customer and thus invested in this technology.”
He further added that his company evaluated various solutions in the market for carton inspection both offline and inline, did various test runs and finally settled for Bobst Accucheck. “It served and fulfilled all our parameters.” He added. “The best part was the actual production speed of Accucheck and at 275 m/min, it is almost double than other offline inspection offerings, which generally talk about feeder belt speed.”
Sachin Patil, sales manager at Bobst India, who was instrumental in the sale of the Accucheck to Laxmi Group, said, ‘’The market for inspection system for cartons is currently crowded, but the best way to decide is to evaluate all the technologies carefully, conduct real test-run and most importantly to verify the experience of the manufacturer offering such technologies before taking the plunge.’’
