Scodix machine has been put up for a public display at an exhibition in India for the first time since its showcase in Drupa, this year. Montech created ripples in the industry when it sold Asia’s first-ever Scodix digital enhancement equipment to Chennai-based PM Digital at the PrintExpo 2012. This was followed with a purchase by New Delhi-based Chanakya Mudrak early this month.

Speaking about the acquisition, PM Chellappan of PM Digital, had said, “At Drupa, I was impressed with the machine’s capabilities and the technology used. The decision to buy was spontaneous.”

The Scodix S74 at the Chanakya Mudrak is also the first installation of the machine in the north region of India. Explaining the purchase decision, Inder Kumar, director, Chanakya Mudrak said, “This technology in Drupa 2012 impressed me a lot. Since then, I was working on this project and finally, invested in it. We opted for this machine to create new parameters of quality. This technology will make print more appealing and our customers will feel the product rather than just see it.

Since the technology is new to the Indian subcontinent, Montech has been holding live demos of the machine at its stand at PrintPack India 2013.

The Scodix S74 provides the tangible uses advanced jetting blocks and multiple independently controlled inkjet nozzles to deliver Scodix’s proprietary Polysense clear polymer in small drops.  The Scodix patent-pending Optical Print Alignment (OPA) camera system executes enhancements with pinpoint accuracy (image-to-image registration), scanning each and every sheet to ensure delivery of the clear polymer to its exact location.

The Scodix S series press has the power to stir the senses with its creations and to produce an eye-catching, memorable experience. Using unique digital enhancement capabilities, it can produce 99 Gloss Units (GU) – the highest gloss available for printed materials as per claims by the company– up to 250 microns in polymer height and variable density capabilities, ranging from 1% to 100%.

TP Jain, managing director, Monotech Systems, said, “To meet the increasing demand of innovative and value added print production, we added Scodix, digital print enhancement machine in our product range. We have installed India’s first Scodix, a few months ago and second too will be soon installed. Scodix’s print enhancement technology is encouraging people to make such a huge investment in the finishing segment. We do see a good growth for Scodix in 2013.”

Adding to Jain's comment, Lior Meron, vice president - Asia Pacific, Scodix, said, “We have seen through out the world that HP Indigo customers have experienced an increment of 30 to 40% in their production after getting Scodix in their facility. So all HP Indigo customers are on our radar, and so are other high production systems. The kind of print enhancement Scodix does in one go is impressive, which was earlier done manually in many passes. We are very excited about the Indian market - and fortunately Indigo and we are good friends.”
