Sankalan Sau, director, Lokenath Printers, said the company decided to go for the AccurioPress after seeing the demand for short-run jobs, which can be produced digitally. The company plans to employ this machine for printing wedding cards, luxury cards, luxury boxes, desktop calendars, coffee table books, brochures, books, and corporate stationeries on all kinds of Konica Minolta supported papers.
Earlier, Lokenath Printers had purchased a Konica Minolta AccurioPress 2070 six years back, for proofing and customised jobs.
“From the beginning, we were determined to buy Konica Minolta as the team members are very friendly and cooperative,” Sau said. “The brand has an identity and the customers are aware about it.”
Established in 1982, Lokenath Printers is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Started with a letterpress, today, Lokenath is known as one of the largest sheetfed offset printers in terms of production capacity as well as well-equipped offset and related machines in Eastern India.
Sau said post-Covid, the industry is facing new challenges. “The steep rise in raw material prices has been leading to unhealthy competitions. There has been a shift to digital as well as short-run jobs. There are a lot of uncertainties in publishing, as well as in corporate campaigns. Therefore, the investment in a digital production printer will prove helpful,” he added.
The company has 10 offset presses and one digital press in a 50,000-sqft factory area, and employs more than 150 people.
