Lucknow Printers Association introduces Unsung Heroes Awards during its Fourth Mega Event in December 2016
The Fourth Mega Event 2016: Printers Conclave, held in Lucknow on 16 December 2016, once again witnessed the high-spirited teamwork among the printers’ community, felicitations of exemplary contributions, and knowledge sharing. “LPA has always believed that recognition inspires. This belief led to the tradition of felicitating printers association for other cities. This year, we added another dimension to this by bringing in other associations to the Mega Event,” Harjinder Singh, general secretary, Lucknow Printers Association, said.
During the event, the invited dignitaries persuaded the printers to innovate to keep up with the changing world in order to meet the need of the hour. Printers were also urged to visit exhibitions to keep themselves abreast with the latest technologies. The guests also spoke about the evolution of the printing industry over the years. The speakers also discussed ways to make the Indian printing industry world class.
The event also saw the release of Print News, the special edition magazine of LPA.
Among others, the event was attended by Vijay Chopra, managing director and editor in chief, Punjab Kesari as the chief guest; Kamal Chopra, president, AIFMP as guest of honour; Anand Limaye, general secretary, AIFMP; P Chander, past president, AIFMP and AK Sinha, chairman, Bureau of Indian Standards as special invitees; Vinod Sethi, president, Greater Delhi Master Printers Association and Duleep Tuli, general secretary, Greater Delhi Master Printers Association as invited guests.
Representatives from other business associations included Sanjay Gupta, state president and Sanjay Trivedi, general secretary of Uttar Pradesh Adarsh Vyapar Mandal, Lucknow; Dev Bhattacharya, state president and Shailendra Srivastava, State general secretary, Industrial United Development Foundation; Milit Gaur, state president and Naved Ahmed, state general secretary, Industries and Traders Welfare Association; and Sandeep Ahuja, VP, North, All India Bread Manufacturers Association.
The event begun with the welcome address by LPA president Jawahar Lal Bhargava, following which Vinod Sethi explained the importance of the event to the delegates. Dulip Tuli spoke next and shared his experience with the audience. Special invitee BIS chairman AK Sinha gave a short presentation on BIS. There were also presentations from Huber, and IPAMA for PrintPack 2016 before the grand awards ceremony for Unsung Heroes.
The first Unsung Heroes – Hero of the Society Award was conferred upon Roop Rekha Verma of the NGO Sajhi Duniya, who, with her team, has worked towards the uplift of the downtrodden. The second awardee was SK Jindal, founder of Pushpanjali Aarogyam in Rajendra Nagar, Lucknow. A chartered accountant, Jindal has dedicated his earnings and life in bringing up the hospital where homeopathy and physiotherapy treatments are offered free.
In the Unsung Heroes – Printers category, the awardees were nominated by the respective city’s registered printers association. The awardees were Suvrat Luthra of Kanpur; Raman of Gorakhpur; Arvind Kumar Pandey of Allahabad; Ashutosh Varshney of Varanasi and Alam and Rajkumar Agarwal of Lucknow.
