According to Sanjay Malhotra, CEO, Malhotra Graphics, the reason behind highlighting the company’s packaging segment is a move to show its customers that it is not only a consumables dealer but also a packaging solutions provider. “Packaging is the future, and we want to explore the opportunities prevalent in the Indian packaging industry,” he said.

Malhotra said the company is offering a bundle of pre-press solutions, which can be used by any packaging converter.

PacZ, a pdf-editing software, was launched at Pamex 2013. Since then, the company has installed 10 licences across India. Malhotra said compared to its competitions, PacZ has tech-added benefits, including features like barcode verification, package wrapping, image and ink mapping and 3D visualisation.

The main focus at Malhotra’s stall is the Xeikon ThermoflexX, a flexo CTP system designed for flexo and letterpress press. “The uniqueness of the ThermoflexX is its size and resolution,” said Nizamappas, a packaging consultant of Malhotra Graphics.

ThermoflexX has a VLF size and can offer resolutions up to 5080dpi. The system is capable of printing on metal substrates as well, which is a crisis on other flexo CTPs, said Nizamappas.

At its stall, the company also informed visitors on its newly launched Studiorip software and Techkon. Studiorip avails advantages of stochastic screening and hybrid screening, thereby offering added advantages in terms of image density. “When used together, Studiorip and ThermoflexX, the customer can have highly detailed images with higher resolutions which no other system can offer,” said Malhotra.
