Manglam Creations invests in Lombardi Synchroline 330

It looks like the Italian press Lombardi Synchroline, represented in India by Vinsak, is catching on, especially at Labelexpo India 2016. After New Delhi-based Excell Graphics invested in a Lombardi Synchroline 430, a 17-inch, eight-colour UV press, Bengaluru-based Manglam Creations invested in a Lombardi Synchroline 330 narrow-web flexo printing press on the third day of the show.

The Lombardi Synchroline 330 is equipped with UV along with chill drum, servo-driven and other advanced features.

Manglam Creations is a division of Venkateswara Packagings. Established in 1972 as a corrugation house, Venketeswara entered into offset printing in 2000. With the Lombardi, it is now foraying into the narrow-web flexo segment.

Chetan Kothari of Venkateswara Packagings said, “For some time now, our existing customers, for whom we manufacture cartons and corrugated boxes, have been demanding that we provide them with labels too. This is the reason we decided to venture into flexography. So far, we have been outsourcing our label demands.”

Kothari said the company was looking for specific configurations for the press and the Lombardi fitted the bill.

The label printing segment of the company will be handled by a team of three of the family members, Chetan, Akshat and Mitesh. “Our family is growing. So we need new segments to grow,” Kothari said, adding, “We will be doing self-adhesive labels and shrink sleeves on the Lombardi. Besides our existing customers, we are looking to attract FMCG, pharma and chemical industries,” he added.

Manglam is 100% dedicated label printing facility in 5,000 sq/ft.

Currently, the packaging printing company converts around 30,000 running metre labelstock and targeting to reach 100,000 running metre in next six months.

At Labelexpo India 2016, Kothari said, he is also looking for a slitter inspection system.

Meanwhile, Vinsak is hoping to take the number of deals to five before the show ends on 20 November.
