Anil Mittal, director, Manik Printpack, said, “We are making our system automatic and fast. Right now, we are on manual mode. Drying of laminated sheets is a problem and during drying, shapes of sheets become round too. And it is difficult to cut those sheets on our die-cutter.” He hopes that the new machine will solve these problems.
The machine can laminate 7,000 sheets of 28x40-inch per hour.
Established in 2010, Manik Printpack produces duplex and corrugated cartons for light bulbs and tube light manufacturing companies. It converts around 80 tonnes of Kraft paper and 40 tonnes of duplex board monthly. Manik has capacity to manufacture one lakh cartons per day and presently manufacturing 50% of its capacity.
Recently, Mittal installed a six-colour Planeta printing press. Since he works only for lighting and bulb manufacturing industry, the press size is 40x56-inch. All the corrugation production is of E-flute.
“We are working towards low-cost and high quality. Our in-house printing press will reduce our dependency and cost,” Mittal said.
Around 90 people work in 25,000 sq/ft fully constructed facility of Manik. The company is targeting for a turnover of more than Rs 20 crore after the investment in the printing press and flute laminator. Manik achieved Rs 15-crore turnover in the last financial year.
