Six manufacturers have confirmed participation with few more expected by this evening, eventually taking the total participation number to 15. The companies which are participating in the meet cover products ranging from pre-press and post-press to digital and software.
Prashant Vats, executive secretary at IPAMA, said, the idea is to have a two to three-hour free-wheeling discussion withdecision-makers about print in India, and where it is going. “The focus of the meet will be on the importance of manufacturing, even as the concept of Make in India is gaining momentum.”
Among the many initiatives of IPAMA is to push the cluster development programme. IPAMA recently held a meeting in Faridabad to roll out a blueprint for creating the first of the many industrial townships.
CP Paul, general secretary at IPAMA, said, “There’s a lot we can do in terms of increasing our competitiveness, part of which is also to understand and discuss ways to cooperate.”
As the key driver of this initiative, PrintWeek India will curate and record, shoot pictures and publish the excerpt of the proceedings in one of the next issues of the magazine plus publish the total proceedings online.
