The machine is specifically positioned for converters seeking an economical, responsive and productive option for short run, high quality labels. Currently, the digital printer would be available in the North American market.

The Mark Andy SRL 4.0 is an easy-to-operate, roll-fed, four-colour (CMYK) toner-based printer. It can accommodate 8.5 to 12.6inch web-widths and can print on a variety of qualified materials with no pre-coated substrate requirements. It delivers 600x1200dpi images with variable data and high definition output and comes equipped with server and software system. In addition, Mark Andy has optional off-line die-cutting and laminating solutions, which can be utilised for attaining flexibility in a short-run label production.

“We are excited to offer solutions at every run size in the label segment. The addition of the Mark Andy SRL 4.0 to our product line allows the converter to engage with more customers and seek more opportunities to generate revenue for their businesses,” stated Jeff Feltz, director of new business development at Mark Andy.

Sheetal Mishra, vice president—marketing and operations at Flexo Image Graphics (FIG), the Indian dealer for Mark Andy presses, told PrintWeek India that the machine would hit the global markets only by 2013. FIG will be exhibiting at the upcoming Labelexpo India 2012 at stand C25. “We would be exhibiting a series of machines which will include a Mark Andy Performance Series P5 narrow-flexo label printing press and Rotoflex VSI series of high speed inspection, slitting and rewinding machines.” Sheetal also confirmed that a Xeikon press would also be present on the FIG stand, however the details of the press is still under wraps.
