The new business arm of Mars, Mars Edge, in association with Tata Trusts, has introduced GoMo Dal Crunchies, a nutritional snack aimed at the Indian market.
Tata Trusts had joined hands with Mars International in 2016. GoMo is a product of this collaboration where Mars looks into the facets of developing, marketing and selling the product, while Tata Trusts identifies the distribution areas through its understanding of local communities.
GoMo Dal Crunchies will be available in three flavours — chilli lemon pepper, green chutney and masala mix — and will be offered in two price points, Rs 20 and Rs 10.
GoMo is a legume-based product that provides significant amounts of lysine, a limiting amino acid in the Indian diet. It is registered as a health supplement, and it aims to ensure that the snack is enjoyable and nutritious.
According Mars Edge, GoMo is particularly designed to give school-going children in India protein and important micronutrient intakes in delicious flavours at an affordable price point.
The product will be manufactured at the Mars facility in Pune and it will be initially distributed in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
