The first in the monthly series of Masterclass sessions will be held on 31 January 2014 at the auditorium of the institute. During the session, Rupesh Sawant, director of Mumbai-based Superlekha and a member of Share-to-Benefit forum will reveal his success story in the print industry to an audience of over 150 students in an interaction with PrintWeek’s deputy editor, Noel D’cunha.
As a part of Masterclass, Sawant will also deliver a technical session on CTP technology for the benefit of the students. In addition, Sachin Shardul, technical editor, PrintWeek India will make a presentation on top print jobs and explain the intricacies of the award winning print jobs produced by top print firms in India.
“Besides imparting education, the aim of this programme is to inspire students and guide them with success stories from the industry,” said Sagar Shejwalkar, head of the department, printing and packaging technology, SIES GST.
The Masterclass series is an attempt to promote industry-institute interaction and alter the perception of the print industry as that of being an unattractive space, in the minds of students. The programme will include sessions by print entrepreneurs, technocrats and thought leaders of the industry.
SIES GST offers a four year degree course in printing and packaging technology. The course, which was started in 2006, had its first batch passed out in 2010 and now it is in its eighth year of existence.
