Matan Digital Printers to launch eight-colour superwide printer at Drupa

Set for a Drupa launch, the 5m-wide machine offers print output speed up to 353sqm an hour.

The printer, which is complemented by a smaller-format 3m Barak 3 model and 5m Barak 5 configuration, can print both 20 and 40 picolitre drops in the same pass.

This is achieved by the manufacture's proprietary Parallel Drop Size (PDS) technology, which is claimed to boost print quality without compromising print speed or ink consumption.

The machine is designed for a range of applications that include billboard displays, signage, vehicle wraps, point-of-sale and fabrics.

Capable of print resolutions of true 600dpi, the machine can switch between four- and eight-colour production and print on rigid substrates up to 25mm thick.

The Barak 8Q, which is powered by Caldera RIP, can print on a wide range of coated and uncoated media and features an automatic flatbed loader and unloader.

Matan chief executive and president Hanan Yosefi said: "Our unique Parallel Drop Size technology is now brought up to the next level, combined with eight-colour printing.

"This enables maximum print quality at print speeds that were not available before."
