T S Guleria, managing director, said, “We opted for a CTP system because of the time savings. Plus we save make-ready time and reduce paper wastage and there is an improvement in plate quality as well as improved runs. We found violet technology supeior to thermal as we have a thermal CTP in our Ludhiana facility.”

The multi-locational commercial, books, magazines and packaging printer is a family business, started in 1981. T S Guleria and D S Guleria started the company in Ludhiana as Maya Processor and later Maya Offset Printers was started in 2000 by T S Guleria.

T S Guleria and his son Ajay Pal Singh and nephew Sushil Kumar are printing technologists from Allahabad and Germany respectively. “Our technical background helps us. I visit both the facilities on regular basis,” said Guleria.

The printing facility consumes 70 printing plates in its round-the-clock operation and converts six tonnes of paper with a total staff strength of 40 in 5850 sq/feet combined area.
