Media Expo opens in Mumbai with product launches

Media Expo 2018, in its 42nd edition opened its gates in Mumbai on Thursday, 22 February at the Bombay Exhibition Centre. The three-day event will see 137 exhibitors from India, China, Korea and Taiwan displaying a range of print technologies and consumables, with an increasing focus on eco-friendly solutions.

With an aim to provide the latest technologies for its visitors, companies like Canon, Hewlett Packard (HP), Fujifilm, Colorjet, Apsom Infotex, Mimaki, TechNova Imaging, Apsom Technologies, Maccart saw live demos and tech offerings at the stall.  
 
The exhibition also saw first-time exhibitors like Nilkamal, Arvind, Alstrong Enterprises, Aludecor Lamination, EverGlow, Wonder Signs, RM Graphics and LIPI Marketing.
 
The event was inaugurated by Thyagaranjan Iyer, COO of TechNova Imaging Systems, Rajeev Bhaskaran, CEO of B&R Digitals, Atul Gandhi, managing director at Macart Equipment, Vikram Bhatia, managing director of Apsom Technologies, Deborshi Poul Choudhury, country head at Apsom Infotex and Samson Simon, group head, media and creative exhibition at Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India.
 
Talking about adopting new technologies and the future in this sector, Iyer said, "The market in the wide-format and OOH sector is growing by 10-15%. Consumers are now looking for end-to-end solutions. Apart from that, digital promotions like LED signages and green solutions will be the future of this industry.”
 
Adding to this, Choudhury said, “The state government has been in a discussion to ban flex as it contains PVC which is harmful to our environment. There is a clear need for alternate solutions and the industry will look up to green solutions as an apt alternative."
 
According to the organiser's statement, "Understanding the demand for a lasting brand impression, Media Expo 2018 has strived to bring new-age solutions along with eco-friendly options and cost-effective alternatives all under one roof to help brand managers, advertisers, and product retailers."
 
In addition, the exhibition will see product launches to ensure credited visibility at this platform.

Technologies to watch out for

Arrow Digital will represent EFI and Oki at Media Expo. Arrow will display EFI H1625 LED hybrid UV inkjet printer, Oki M64 LCIS (Large Capacity Ink System) model and many others.

Benson Polymers launches Polyfix, super strong adhesive for plastics, metals, and ceramics.

Decoprint will launch of Sublimis, a technology that involves sublimation printing to get stunning white point, good light diffusion and is nonsticky. 

Hitech Systems will display print machines from Azon which is capable of printing on diverse substrates such as cotton, nylon, lycra, denim, jute, paper, leather, metal, glass, vinyl, acrylic, wood with advanced digital die-cutter, auto-feeder.
