Media Expo Day One pulls-in visitors despite rain plays spoiler
The first day of Media Expo Delhi kicked-off with a convincing number of footfalls despite heavy rains in the capital today.

The 32nd edition of the advertising and signage show, which will be held from 27-29 in Pragati Maidan, was inaugurated by Vijay Goel, BJP president for Delhi.
There is a fair mix of manufacturers of machines, substrates and consumables, as well as signage and wide-format printing service providers at the show. Some of the leading players of the signage industry like Apsom Infotex, Britomatics India, Caldron Graphics, Roland, Daksh Enterprises, Epson India, Goldtech Graphics, Infinity Digital Solutions, KMI Business Technologies, Macart Equipment, Mono Sign Systems and UV Printer India, are exhibiting a wide range of machines catering the signage market.
Focusing on the various applications of its Designjet series of printers, HP today showcased a live demo of vehicle wrapping at its stand for the visitors. At its stand, the company is showcasing its strength in printing segment through its new range of printer series, Z6200 and T7100.
Arrow Digital, distributor of a range of materials and equipment for digital printing and cutting market is displaying Jetrix KX5 UV flatbed printer at its stand. The machine utilises Konica Minolta 1024 (6 picolitre) print head, which offers speeds of up to 30sqm/hour and a maximum print resolution of 1440dpi. Another well-known player, Fujifilm India is showcasing its range of Acuity printers at the show.
With at least two exhibitors Colorjet India and Negi Sign and Systems are showcasing digital wide-format printers for handling textile substrates, which points towards the growing acceptance for fabric as a viable media option in the signage industry.
Colorjet India is displaying its direct to fabric printer, Softjet, which is equipped with Konica Minolta Industrial Jetting print heads. The machine can print up to 645 sqft in an hour. The machine uses dye sublimation direct ink and has a maximum printing width of 72.5inch. Similarly, Negi Sign Systems is displaying Mutoh Valuejet VJ 1638W aqueous printer. The 64inch new printer with its four-color, staggered dual head design can print up to 517sqft an hour using with aqueous or dye-sublimation ink.
Chennai-based Monotech Systems, dealer of pre-press, digital printing, wide-format printing equipment and software has made the formal announcement of acquiring the dealership for Israel-based Matan’s Barak range of grand format hybrid UV printers. The machine, however, is not on display at its stand. Caldron Graphics too has announced its distribution arrangement with HP for HP’s Latex printing machines.
Mumbai-based Paper N Films International, distributor of heat transfer printing papers used for transfer of print from paper to fabric and other substrates, announced the addition of water-proof paper and board to its list of product offerings. According to the company, the product enhances life of paper by safeguarding it against the effect of moisture, and therefore, can be used to print vital documents.
Exhibitors seemed content with the visitor counts of the day. Few, however, pointed out that they were optimistic of an even better turnout on Sunday. The last year edition of the show saw 168 exhibitors showcase their products, nearly 20,000 visitors through the three-day show. Over 180 national and international exhibitors have confirmed participation at the show this year from India, Korea, China, Japan, Switzerland, Taiwan and more.
