The Japan-based Roland conducted live demonstrations to explain a range of wide-format printing machines possible on its Soljet Pro4 XF-640 and Soljet Pro XR-640. Media Expo was also used as a platform by print companies focusing on home décor market to showcase their strengths. Three print companies were in limelight, Eye Candy Visuals, Big Prints, and Indigo Prints. Surprisingly, all three are customers of HP print technologies. Eye Candy Visuals, which has its creative base in Safdarjung Enclave (New Delhi), was one such printing company who were not only showcasing their wall-cover offerings but also displayed a vehicle wrapped using HP’s latex technology.

Asked about the response of the market, Arjun Nanda, managing director, Eye Candy Visuals said, "Although the market is facing a slight slowdown, wall and vehicle covering is expected to pick up in coming few months. Since we deal with the corporates more than regular walk-in clientele, we have seen very good response from the market.”

Okhla-based Indigo Prints had stands in separate halls of Media Expo and Gift Expo. Incorporated in the year 1994, the company used the expo to showcase it capability to print a wide range of plastic cards, promotional products, plastic calendar cards, promotional tea coasters, corporate identity products and miscellaneous promotional products. These were printed on PVC-ABS blend plastic substrates procured from Germany and Taiwan, and included different finishes like embossing or engraving, magnetic strips and bar codes etc.

Big Prints was at the show displaying a wide range of large-format digital printing solutions using textile, fabrics, vinyl printing technology. The company adopted HP Latex 65500 printer fairly two years back at its 10,000 sq/ft. facility in Delhi for indoor and outdoor large format printing requirements.

This year the show has seen a huge share of visitors from the print service industry. Last year too, the show had reported a footfall of 20,000 visitors. The next Media Expo is tentatively scheduled for February 2014 in Mumbai.
